dioramas! dioramas! dioramas!
YES, they're so very...kindergarten. but if you add the proper verbiage
- like calling them "mixed media landscapes" - then you've got some ART on
your hands. So...here's a small collection of my mixed media landscapes.
The dioramas you see below are actually three-dimensional "sculptures" about
5x7 inches in size. All of them feature small plastic animals and flora,
and some interesting paper as wall and floor covering. The dioramas each
come with an original caption, often in the style of Gary Larson's Far Side
but sometimes a little more twisted. They are all available for sale and
you should know that at the moment, there's pretty much only one copy of
each. They are also available for group art shows, etc., and I'm happy to
host a guided tour if you are in my neck of the woods (San Francisco). Until
I come up with a better name, the ongoing exhibit title for the collection
is "How I Spent My Summer Vacation."
